Bringing web copy to life for a consulting firm

A publicly traded consulting firm undergoing a transformation from its tech-intensive origins to a broader business focus needed a website that demonstrated its new mission. Enter Steve Gozdecki to make recommendations for improvement and give an expressive lift to the copy.

Steve began the engagement with an examination of the current state of the companys site, which had been pieced together and expanded over many years without a guiding strategy. Over time, the company's ad hoc approach created an eclectic mix of content, presentation and writing styles throughout the website. Steve supplemented this analysis with an examination of competitors' sites and consideration of best practices for web writing.

Steve then developed a content solution that outlined the essential information needed in order to convey the firms industry and service capabilities, as well as a brief style guide aimed at making the copy more lively and interesting to web readers.

Over the course of several months, Steve worked across all levels of the firm to gather information and craft descriptions of four industry practices and three services, coupled with the development of more than 20 brief, web-friendly client case studies that showed the firm in action. Additional work streams included the writing of more than 25 consultant bios to portray their expertise and a holistic copyedit of the entire website to standardize voice and format.
